Holistic approach to the psychological care of renal patients


The National Service Framework (NSF) for Renal Services recommends including renal psychologist and a counsellor in the multidisciplinary team. Only few units in the UK have got these facilities at the present. As part of this Wirral and Chester Renal Unit’s have commissioned a solution focused patients centred course for four of their staff members.

Nephrologist shortlisted for British Medical Journal award


Dr Alex Crowe, clinical network lead for the kidney care network, and Trust clinical lead for renal services for Wirral and Chester Kidney Service at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, has been shortlisted in the Clinical Leadership category of the prestigious Group BMJ awards.
